EPIU’s Grievance Redress Mechanism

Grievance Redress Mechanism (hereinafter GRM) regulates the relations between public feedback and grievance redress mechanisms in the framework of the projects funded by international organizations and executed by “Environmental project implementation unit” State Agency (hereinafter EPIU).

GRM is a system that enables project-affected individuals to present their project-related questions, suggestions, and concerns and receive timely response.

EPIU’s GRM provides for a two-step procedure. The first step is optional and gives the complainant the opportunity to directly approach the project staff and report his/her complaint.

In the event that the direct response by project staff is not satisfactory, or if the complainant does not want to deal directly with project staff, the complainant has the right to skip to the second step of GRM procedure which is to escalate the complaint to the Grievance Redress Committee (hereinafter GRC). GRC independently reviews and solves issues raised by individuals or organizations concerning EPIU projects which are believed to have caused or to be likely to cause, harm.

A grievance can be escalated to the GRC via submitting the completed Complaint Form to the email address grm@epiu.am and carbon copying the GRM focal point of each project according to the table below:
