The director of “Environmental project implementation unit” State Agency Mr. Gevorg Nersisyan, Mr. Aram Gabrielyan UNFCCC focal point in Armenia, adaptation and mitigation component coordinators of the project Mr. V. Melikyan and T. Sekoyan, representatives from the National assembly of the RA, Ministry of Nature Protection, international organizations, NGOs and other departments participated in the workshop.

From May 22-25 Washington hosted the 52nd GEF Council meeting. Gevorg Nersisyan, director of “Environmental project implementation unit” SA of the Ministry of Nature Protection (EPIU) participated in it as GEF Alternate member in Armenia.
Samvel Baloyan, deputy director of EPIU and Gor Saribekyan, lawyer accompanied him. Armen Martirosyan, Sustainable Growth and Resilience Portfolio Manager at UNDP Armenia also took part in the meetings.
The Council discussed implemented activities for 2016-2017 and status of projects envisaged by GEF-6. Statements were made by the executive secretaries of UNCCD, UNCBD and other conventions mentioning the outcomes of cooperation and next steps with GEF.
